Thanks goodness its Friday guys. The MySale team headed down to Paris Texas massive winter sale held at the Auckland Showgrounds in Greenlane. Parking will cost you $5 as the Erotica show is on at the same time so maybe you could kill two bird with one stone.
The venue was huge and well spaced out with clothing for girls on the right and the guys on the left and the crowds were minimal due to our 1pm arrival (staff have told us they were expecting large crowds come tonight and the weekend). we found the sale was great if you were looking for Jeans as they had racks and racks of jeans heavily marked down. For example G-Star jeans a favourite of ours here at MySale were down from $300 retail to $99 and Lee jeans all $79. They also stocked other brands such as Mavi, Nobody and Wrangler jeans. We found the shirts and jacket selection was very limited compared to the number of jeans on sale. Tee's were all $30 for guys and gals so come on down if you want to grab a bargain on some cool discounted jeans

The sale runs all this weekend and tonight Friday 22nd August

The other women's handbag sale this weekend as well as Saben's great sale was Cellini. We headed down to this sale after going to the Saben sale and were not disappointed with the bargains we picked up.

Cellini Sport bags were $30 each or 2 for $50 and their leather handbags were all $100. They also had women’s wallets and travel suitcases on sale at their Mt Wellington warehouse.

Unfortunately they were not open on Sunday and you only have two days Friday and Saturday to get on down to grab a bargain. This was MySale's pick of the sale this weekend for overall great bargains anybody could afford without breaking the bank.

This weekend has been all about women’s handbags and shoes and the MySale team headed down to Saben first Factory sale located at 52a Parau St corner of Fearon Ave (hint its easy going from Mt Albert Rd end of Three Kings). The sale is located in a small block of shops on Parau St.

Once there we found the bargain bin with bags and items for $50 and Saben handbags around the $200 mark and boots from $100. Like any sale you had to rummage round and get in early for the special items so hurry on down they close today at 5pm. If you went to the sale tell us what you brought and what you thought of the sale

Thanks Saben another great sale and hopefully you do more of these in the near future

On Saturday morning we went to the Federation Sale which was held at their new flagship store on Customs Street, Auckland City. Previous sales were located at their Albany warehouse\office and we were happy the sale was held somewhere central so good on ya Federation!

On entering their store, we saw rows of table piled with Federation clothing and they really maximised there flagship store space. The crowds were manageable and it was easy to move around without any pushing or shoving.
We felt the girls had a better selection of clothing on sale as the men's sale items was regulated to a small back room of their store and the guys range was at the best limited but it may be due to us missing the Friday opening sale.

Prices for all items were $100 and below with Shirts from $70 and tees at $25 so there were bargains to be found. We also noted that items with a red mark on the label were seconds and further discounted so that was a bonus and so were sample items but you had to go hunting.
Great news for Federation customers they have just opened a factory outlet in Takapuna.

This weekend the team at MySale headed out to the Seconds on Endfield sale in Mt Eden
located across the road from Bo Concept corner of Endfield and Normanby Road. Seconds on Endfield sale, is a great place to go for your homeware needs. They had plenty of bargains on bed linen stocking the CITTA brand of bed, bath and kitchen linen, glassware, candles and dressing gowns. We picked up some trendy red bath mats at 2 for $15 and Citta fleece blankets for those wintery nights were just $25. Loads of parking and we found the premises not too congested for us to move around at our leisure without feeling like a sardine. They did have the funniest checkout procedure which was like a fine tuned military operation with one lady adding up your items and calling out the price to the checkout lady before you even got to the cashier! Very impressive ... you had to present your ticket before leaving the warehouse.

Last weekend we popped into the Peter Alexander temporary outlet shop in Westfield Shopping Mall Takapuna to check out there recent shop range on sale. The temporary shop is located at on ground floor by the Farmers end of the mall. Peter Alexander is an Australian chain and claims to be Australia's pyjama king stocking an extensive line of sleepwear.

We found the sale good but their two for one deal was clearly there for you to help them offload stock items from the current season. You couldn't just buy one item as everything was two for one deal! So bring a friend down to this sale and grab a two for one deal. The savings from there normal high street store was quite significant!

Did anyone go to the Billabong sale last weekend? We would love to hear from you on what you thought about it.

A MySale'r said that the queues for this sale was long but was worth the wait as they picked up pants from $100 or more for as little as $25 so that’s a huge saving of 75%. Now that’s what we call a sale here at MySale!
Drop us a line if you were at this sale in Albany

The team at MySale went down to Huffer sale today at 35c Surrey Cres Grey Lynn and the sun was out in full effect. Parking was a bit tight around Surrey Cres as the Pasifika 2008 was on down the road in Western Springs. The venue for the Huffer sale was good and the Red Bull Hummer was parked outside blasting the sounds. The Huffer guys and gals always put on a good sale and this was no exception as we picked our way through the piles and racks of clothes from there range. The prices ranged from $35 for singlets and $40 for tees to $120 for outerwear. The girls at Mysale picked up a few funky items but we thought the guys range did not provide much choice as the girls range. One of our lovely crew were wearing a Huffer summer dress and she instantly got a further discount on her sale items for being spotted in Huffer on the day. So it pays to show your love to Huffer when you’re at their sale!

If you came to the sale near the end of the day (5pm) you could get further reductions on the sale item MySale have found. We love HUFFER here at MySale!

Tell us what you thought of the Huffer sale!

Ok the team at MySale tried to make it down to the Sony Stock clearance sale this weekend Saturday 8th March 2008 on a glorious sunny day but the line was so long even at 11:30am we gave up!. So we apologise we could not bring you any reviews of this sale but if you were there please drop us a line here and tell us what you thought of it.
The sale started at 9am and ended at 1pm which we thought was too short of a time to allow everyone to come down and pickup a bargain. The queue down Nugent St was 100 metres long and the sun was beating down.

Everybody loves a bargain and here at MySale we love finding sales and informing you off them. Your first port of call should be here at MySale if you want to be informed of sales in your area. So join our mailing list and tell all your friends about us. Word of mouth is still the best way to find a sale and with your help and our hard work we can make MySale your only destination for finding a sale anytime!

In the meantime there are other things you can do outside of MySale to find those sales. The following are tips from our staff here at MySale.
  1. Sign up to MySale newsletter and tell all your friends about it here http://www.mysale.co.nz
  2. Sign up to your favourite retailers online mailing list so they can inform you of their sales and promotions when it happens
  3. Use conventional media such as newspapers, TV Ads and radio
  4. Tell a friend who loves shopping to let you know when they see a sale. Word of mouth and the event of email and TXT have made it so easy and simple to communicate information and spread it like wildfire

You don’t always have to find a sale to get a bargain. Paying by cash is a great way of getting a discount of retail price. Retailers hate credit cards due to the card company’s charges for processing the transaction. Cash is instant gratification and in the hands for the retailers and they love this. Just remember you’re the customer and they want your cash there is no shame in asking for a discount for cash payment or even roping friends into buying the same item and getting a discount for a double sale!

The best time for going to a sale is at the end of the day normally when they’re about to close, (if it’s a one day sale) they will normally slash the items further to get rid of their stock. MySale tip is to go to a sale early in the morning and check stock availability and if there are lots of items in your size or style you desire then your chances are high that it will still be there come closing time. Come back then and 9 times of 10 you can always pick it up cheaper than in the morning.

Always expect crowds at sales so be prepared for queues and always wear something comfortable so that you can easily try on items without much effort

Have you ever bought an item at a sale and wondered what your rights were when it came to a refund or found the item damaged?

Here at MySale we help you with these questions.

Scenario A: You brought an item on sale as a gift but found out that person already had that item and wanted to get a refund. Are you entitled to take the gift back and get a refund?

Answer: No. Normally, all sales are final and the retailer is under no obligation to provide a refund. You can return a product only if it fails to live up to the guarantees set out in the
Consumer Guarantees Act. If you simply change your mind, then all you can do is tell the supplier and politely ask for your money back. Some retailers will give you a refund, to promote good relations with customers - but this is more than they are legally required to do.

Scenario B: You buy a top at a sale but when you came home you discovered a rip. You take the top back but the shop manager points out there "No refund on sale items" policy. They refuse to give you your money back or replacement top. Can they do this?

Answer:No. Sale items are covered by the
Consumer Guarantees Act in the same way as any other goods (unless you are told of any faults before you buy the goods) and retailers can't contract out of the Act.
